COLUMBIA, S.C. – Governor Henry McMaster today issued Executive Order 2020-17, which orders the closure of non-essential businesses, as defined by the executive order, throughout the state in order to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Cancer patients list transportation as one of the biggest roadblocks to treatment. The American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program alleviates that burden by providing cancer patients with free rides to and from treatment. The American Cancer Society needs volunteer drivers for this program.

January is National Radon Action Month. The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) encourages the testing of all homes. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that comes from the breakdown of uranium in the soil. It is odorless, colorless and tasteless.
